I'm thinking of moving to Firefox 3.1 beta 3 as soon as it's released, can't hardly wait and I'll use FEBE to backup my settings too

Update!
Firefox 3.0.6 seems to break Gmail and DeviantART on a Javascript level, very annoying!!!
So much for beta testers, I blame myself for not being involved

Just downgraded to Firefox 3.0.5, flushed all my private data out and everything works again

I've no problems with v3+. The frequent update schedule breaks plugins from time to time, but the plugin authors seem to keep up, at least for the ones I use.
I recommend Firefox to everyone.

Found a nasty bug in Firefox that has existed since 2005, Firefox doesn't respect NTFS File Permissions for downloads under Vista.
I've now switched to Opera 9.63 which doesn't have the bug.

Oh, great. After serval delays with Firefox 3.1 beta3 Mozilla has decided to release beta 4 too before the final release and the final release is pushed back serval months.
Also along with the beta 4 Mozilla will change version number 3.1 to 3.5. If you ask me, the version change sounds just like an excuse to push back the final release.
ps. Will be installing to Firefox 3.0.7 shortly.
pps. Firefox 3.1 beta3 is suppose to be released today...

I know, I'm sick of the delays too!
I'll install Firefox 3.1 beta 3 as well and hopefully make it my primary browser, Opera is missing alot of cool features that Firefox has.

Ok, I now have it installed along side 3.0.7 with two different profiles and it has been hell sorting out the extensions too!
For some unknown reason, Mozilla won't let me upgrade to Ubiquity 0.1.6?

Firefox 3.1 beta 3 is really good if anyone was thinking of trying it.
Roughly, 65-70% of my extensions are now compat and the rest are running in forced compat mode.

Yes beta 3 is quite good, no groundbreaking improvements (too bad they removed the tab switching feature), but the performance improvements are great and TraceMonkey javascript engine is just superb, though bugs in TraceMonkey are the reason behind the delays.
Get ready to update all extensions again when beta 4 gets out.

Version changes to 3.5 in beta 4 so update is necessary, fortunately mozilla has some kind of plan to automatically update all extensions in Mozilla Add-ons site with 3.1 maxversions to 3.5 maxversions.
Firefox 3.0.9 will be released today and Firefox 3.5 beta 4 (hopefully) in this week. Tomorrow's
status meeting should confirm the beta 4 release date.

When I put an “Internet Shortcut” (
.URL) to Web pages that have unicode characters in their title (e.g.
Japanese homepage of Mozilla Firefox) via drag & drop into a folder of my file manager (Ontrack ExplorerPlus), I end up with...
- ??????? Firefox ??·??·????????? ??????????????.URL
... instead of...
- 次世代ブラウザ Firefox 高速・安全・自由にカスタマイズ 人気ブラウザ無料ダウンロード.URL
I have to use the
DEL command to get rid of files with illegal/invalid/reserved characters in their name.
So tell me: Is this this a bug in Firefox or in ExplorerPlus or in both apps

Does ExplorerPlus suport unicode file names?

I have to apologize for my dumb question. I tricked myself into believing that Firefox and/or ExplorerPlus are creating shortcuts with illegal names, while the characters are indeed OK if viewed in Windows Explorer.
After more than a decade it's probably time for me to let go and move on to a file manager which not only supports unicode but also gets along with
XnView's shell extension.

It's called
self-induced information overload, and I was told there's no cure for it

Well, at least there's a name for it, surely there must be help as well. Such a relief.

Firefox 3.5 Official Beta 4 has been released!
It's the same as build 1 which I was running for 2-3 days before...
