Hotkeys to move images to preset directories.
Ctrl+F1, Ctrl+F2, and so on.
A preset directory can then also be configured as being the recycle bin.

Too bad Ctrl+F1 is already taken by "Show Favourites menu". That one also has F6 already. Perhaps retain old function when no preset directory is used.

I just discovered Brightness/Contrast/... - Shift+E in All Current Hotkeys / Shortcuts http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... ile+select

As usually Hotkey combinations are shown in the menu, show them for image > adjust > * as well. That's my hotkey related wish :) Georg

Rating of images

In order to rate images, I've to use hotkeys in full screen (popup menu does not contain rating). Great feature, works, efficient :) The bad news: CTRL+1 etc on the numeric keyboard is quite awful on laptops as they don't have a number keypad and toggling is usually not comfortable...is there any reason why not to use the normal numbers? So just 1,2,3,4,5,0? They do nothing so far. Or at least CTRL+1?

Not normal here

:) Hello !

- That you call "normal" numbers - I suppose on a US Keyboard - doesn't work with a French (and others) keyboard…
- You need +Shift to get the digits, and even with it, that doesn't work in the most cases. :|
- There are threads here where it's reported.

BTW : My son's laptop has a Num-pad…

I agree, but only if numpad 2,4,5,6,8 keys would work (to move image, bery old suggestion), maybe it could rate images and move them only if they would be larger than screen. :?: But it would work good only if auto fit feature would be used. Or - rate with non-numpad 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0 and move only with numpad 2, 4, 5, 6, 8.

However, rate hotkeys should be one-key-hotkeys, not shortcuts (like ctrl+X, shift+X...) IMO.

Well, US, DE, SE, FI and some other layouts I worked often with...so didn't think of FR (only used twice). Hm, not nice.

Clo, simple question: Will CTRL and 1-key (the "normal one") harm in any way? So is some other function activated? If not: Just offer CTRL+1 for the normal and the numpad. French users will not have the choice (sorry) but can still use he numpad hotkeys (as planned before my post), all others have the choice.

Anything else? Dreamer seems not to have a smooth solution as well. Hm. ALT+F1...F5 etc are already used. CTRL+F1...F5 also. WIN-key is not present on IBM Notebooks etc. and badly placed on a lot of others, so not nice as well. Maybe there's a efficient way to determine whether one of the locales with numbers as primary chars of the upmost row is active and only then activate the keys? Yea, no "sober" solution, as hotkeys depend on current locales setting that might even change during XnView is active.

:) Hi Georg !
…CTRL and 1-key…
… here needs Ctrl+Shift+1… “As is”, you type Ctrl+&
- It's worse with Alt as a modifier, because the menus hotkeys…
- In XnView, I can't set for example é for a menu while it works in TC for a menu-title!
• The core of the programme is still sticked to a US keyboard, it doesn't care the current keyboard stated in Win. :|

- Aside, did you notice that the dialogues don't contain hotkeys? This is a lacuna that Pierre has to fix up, I worked for this with experimental French DLLs (also an English and German ones for 1.82.x).
- This allows to see the digits issue pretty well ;)
- Personally, I don't care to use the Num-pad always, but it's not sure it be easy to code "normal" OR "Num-pad" digits in all cases.
- I don't use the keyboard a lot because some light handicaps on my hands…
But I guess that the programme must be complete for those who use it.
Full keyboard? And it still can be called a laptop? Cool 8)
• Yes, it's a upmarket model… Only the price is not cool :|

Hi Clo![quote="Clo"]
>… here needs Ctrl+Shift+1… “As is”, you type Ctrl+&

So there are no problems caused when CTRL+1 is the hotkey and acceptes the 1 on the numpad as well as on the main keypad? Fine :) one possible solution

> - In XnView, I can't set for example é for a menu while it works in TC for a menu-title!

Well, I don't miss that å can't be set as hotkey. There are enough others ;) and sometimes I switch the locale => could not access my hotkey any more.

> Aside, did you notice that the dialogues don't contain hotkeys?

Yep, but I don't care as TABs / mouseclicks are quick enough for me when only 4 or 6 widgets exist.

> - Personally, I don't care to use the Num-pad always, but it's not sure it be easy to code "normal" OR "Num-pad" digits in all cases.

Well, depends on the language etc, Pierre can answer this :) and for display in the menu: No problem, only the number is displayed. BTW here's a problem when only numpad works: A lot of users will use the "normal" numbers and be disappointed because the hotkey "does not work". AFAIK there's no way to display normal/numpad distinguished in a common way.

>But I guess that the programme must be complete for those who use it.

Would be nice as with keys it's very quick and does not disturb during picture show (like a mouse toolbar would do)

New request for...

- ImageShack (plugin) - Shift+I

Added to the list.

I request a shortcut for "Select only tagged files"

Other image managers that I'd used, have the "º" key for tagging, untaggin and "Ctrl+º" for selecting the tagged files.

"º": I mean the key on the left to the "1".

Thanks!

MMB for revert to original size

Currently, the shortcut list displays
"Fit image to window, large only - RMB+LMB"
If Original size=MMB, the other function would be complemented.

Alternatively, I think the 2 button sequence being 'original size' would be a better match for the existing default viewer setting of: "fit image to window, large only"

Id like to use my mouse's side buttons for going to the previous/next image.

Windows Explorer and various browsers already support those buttons so itd be nice if XnView supported it too.

Before posting a request please check here and make sure that it hasn't been requested before and whether this hotkey/shortcut is not reserved for another option. You can find a list of all hotkeys/shortcuts in the XnView Help (press F1 in XnView to show) or here.

If you want support Custom Hotkeys/Shortcuts, you can do it here.
