Favourites - Context menu: New subfolder

I'm still not 100% happy with the context menu of the favourites. Currently it is:
Delete favourite
Rename favourite
-----------
New subfolder
-----------
Edit entry...
Add entry...
Sort entries
I'd suggest something like:
New...
Delete
Rename
Edit...
-----------
New Folder
-----------
Sort entries
I'm tired and have to go to bed, so no explanation why each single change has been made.

I've already change from 'delete' to 'delete favorite' (there is a thread about that) because it's not a delete of folder!

I prefer "remove" to "delete" here. I think adding "favourite" may avoid some confusion with actual folder deletion...

I agree with Olivier, as I said, I'd prefer the same term (favourite), not "favourite" and "entry", also "remove" would be clearer as "delete", since no real folder is deleted.

The user works in Favourite pane, so I think he/she should expect favourites to be deleted. So I think there's no need for adding "favourite". And real folders cannot be deleted, here, so I see no danger.
(In Beta 5 you seem to delete folders by pressing "Del" key, but that's a severe bug and luckily only the entry is deleted, not the real folder).
I don't like "Add favourite" since you actually *create* a new favourite. So why not call it "New.."? (In MS Explorer you don't add folders, either, you create them using "New > Folder").
The above said also applies to "Remove": You delete a favourite and it will be gone, why not name it "Delete" just like everywhere in other applications?
Until now I stick to my menu structure and naming mentioned above.

Add As Favorite, perhaps.
Why I'm thinking it should include 'favorite': This could be quickly added as a submenu in the file browser, where there is no context; and even if you were willing to have two different versions, then you lose the imho very important consistency between them. On the other hand, only add and remove actually make sense when working with the browser, so maybe you're right.

It looks as folder tree, it's at the same place, there are even real sub-folders (not favorites), just few reasons to include "favourites".
In other applications favorites don't look like folders and there are no real subfolders between favorites - and also there is a possibility to "delete favorite" AND "delete a file on disk" (in some cases, quite often).
Therefore I still think it might be (very) confusing and "favourite" is needed.

In B6, the current menu is has several translation errors. These should be fixed, no matter what order is decided upon.
1. 'Delete favourite' & 'Rename favourite' are mistaken, because they also apply to folders.
2. 'Add entry' is mistaken because it only applies to favourites.
3. 'New Subfolder' is mistaken because it can be a parent folder.
4. The word 'entry' is not needed at all.

person, same in French, thus it's wrongly used here.

adjective, it needs an object to define, of course !
1. So, we might have "Favourite folders" etc.
2. Add a new fav. folder ? Or so…
3. Hum… Yes and no… Anyway, it'll be always a sub-folder of its drive
- Seriously : "Add a new favourite folder" ?
4. “Entry” is often used as “Menu item”… I suppose it stands for :
"Add this new fav. folder on the menu as a new item " (Yep ! A bit long !
)

Hi Claude,
In English, it is often used as an object/noun- but perhaps not in French. So it might look odd to a non-native speaker accustomed to different rules.

I agree. I think of "favourite" and "folder" as seperate items. Folder used in context of this menu, of course. When a command applies to either item, I don't think it is necessary to have another word added to it.

I always think of a subfolder as something which is secondary to another folder in depth/level. I guess the name could help distinguish it from other types of folders, but I have never seen the word used that way.
