I would like an option to change the bakground color in the viewer window.
I mean so there is a possibility to directly change to black - grey - white.

I hope you understand my request

I'm not sure I understand. v.1.82.4 has option View>Background Color

• If I got you alright, you'ld wish to change the background-colour in the Viewer “on the spot”,
maybe to highlight better the current displayed image ?

• I guess that -in theory- this is not impossible, but many users would think that the game isn't worth the candle…

• Anyway, it should need a menu entry (or an extra-button) and a dialogue opened from it,
in order to get an Apply button to change in the INI and reload it…

• Moreover, the pre-defined colours you quote couldn't do the trick for everybody (and I) !
So, on that dialogue, they might be configurable. Complicated…

• I'm not against, but there are important changes to realize before, IMHO.
- So, a “Nice to have” for a (very) far version…

• I thougt to get a simpler feature, at least to set it…

• Whether we could obtain an internal command for each BG colour, so then the thingy becomes more feasible :

     

• This could be a section somewhere in the Options, or even a non-modal box, like i.e. the “Grid Settings” one…

• Each command could be used even now with an extra-button in the tool-bar,
and also later as an extra-entry in a menu with future menus as text…
- It might be able to change the BG in the INI and to reload it as one go…

- What do you think ?

• Ah ! Really nice with these three small buttons !

- So, we could have similar buttons, but only on the tool-bar…

- I'll draw samples (the extra-icons don't come with the skins currently, but I've some personal skins I can patch at will…).
- Light - Medium (default) and Dark BGs.

• Finally, something to put on the back burner, hoping the Author'll express his opinion

• This proposal becomes more needed now, since we have some improvements at the transparency display (icons i.e.)

• Hence, what about to plan it for a medium version, let's say… 1.9.5 or so ?

• Personally, I would be rather in favour of a small non-modal window to place the settings I showed above,
not a very big deal, finally…
