Hi,

can you please implement the posibility to sort the pictures in the Viewer free by custom via dragging and droping the thumbnails? The custom sort order should be able to use for example renaming or slide shows. The new order should be saved for each folder.

This feature has been requested at least 11 times in the last five years, so I really wonder why Pierre doesn't add it.

Some features are hard, or impossible to implement in the current version, therefore Pierre has created (or rather he is creating) XnView MP. More info about this project:

What exactly is XnView MP?

I know XnView MP and like the approach, but unfortunately it's in a very early state.

Since XnView is described as "a free software to view, organise, convert graphics files" (see http://www.xnview.com/), it should be possible to sort images with it, since sorting is a main aspect of organising. So this feature should be implemented as soon as possible if it's not too difficult, otherwise the work would be better invested in XnView MP, and in XnView there should mainly be fixed bugs.

There is a possibility to sort the images using up and down buttons in Batch rename and Slide show, so what about such a feature, perhaps as tab (already requested), for more features, e.g. Batch processing, but with another feature, show thumbnails view, something like thumbnails and details view, with drag & drop, or at least those buttons?
