You have it already. On the file list, you have a popup menu (right click)

Hey! Wow! I never would discover that feature! And it works in Linux too!!!

Pierre, please add a simple "label" below the files listbox to tell us this. I think 95% of users do not know about it.

Button "Sort >>"

Think it's 99.9% of the XnView users. ;-)

For two reasons it is really very hard to find this hidden functionality:

- Until now, context menus (menus that are opened when right clicking) are provided rarely in XnView.
- Normally, context menus do not contain extra functionality, that means more functionality than available with buttons / menus / ...

So users should be really pointed to the sorting functionality. But I am not sure whether a label is the right thing.
What about a button "Sort >>" that opens the menu when clicking on it? (Similar to the button "Insert >>") in batch rename.

And a simple "listbox" commonly does not have a context menu in any application. It does not mean that it is forbidden, but it will be "hidden".

Good idea. I said about label only to be the fast and easiest way to "fix" it, but a button would be better.
