No selection box drawing after pressing Ctrl-End / Ctrl-Home

I have second layout:
folder tree at left top
file list at left bottom
preview at right.
Current mode: thumbnails.
After I press Ctrl-End, XnView go to last picture but not highlight last file.
For proving of that selection I press Left key then Right key, selection box draws ok.
Same issue when going to top of list by pressing Ctrl-Home.
WinXP SP3, XnView 1.96.2

I've checked, it's the standard behaviour. Only the focus change, not the selection

"loose" focus, so I should press Alt-Tab for return to XnView

You loose focus after Ctrl+End??
