Long file name renaming trouble

When I rename a file name. If the name is long like below, home button doesn't go at the beginning of filename, instead it goes just before "34222323232"
I didn't have such trouble in ACDsee.

Am I clear? Just want to home button acts as any other app: Going beginning of the file name. So I can put much easier "+" mark for used or sent pictures.

Right, but it's the standard behavior of this control

You can test in windows explorer...

Can't confirm this. Here (XP SP3) the cursor goes back to the beginning.

Obviously because you're using symbols or thumbnail view!Switch to list or details view and it'll work properly ...
But I must say that this is working fine here in XnView 1.97.2 too! I can get in front of the first letter fine via POS1 (HOME) key! No prob.

Yes I want this fix exactly for thumbnail view. I don't want switch other modes just because renaming a picture.

After f2 the whole file name is highlighted (cursor doesn't in place where you were mentioned).

Not here. A dialog pops up in XnView. That dialog shows two edit fields. One with th suffix and one with the prefix (file extension). Cursor is placed in the first field. So it can't be in front of the extension because extension is in separate edit field.

Inplace renaming doesn't work here at all. I thought clicking twice would go into rename mode!?
