1. Put the following files in windows explorer:
01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg, 04.jpg
2. Configure Xnview browser to sort by name in reverse order.
(z,x,y...)
3. Associate jpg with Xnview.
4. Start viewer by selecting 01.jpg in MS explorer.
5. Now, Xnview will not advance to from 01.jpg to 02.jpg using <page down>.
This is similar to an old file order bug, which was fixed just using browser. But launching
Xnview viewer from MS explorer has problems.

Isn't this normal, as opposed to the other case? 01.jpg is the last file for XnView.

Viewer should acknowledge MS explorer order when launching Xnview viewer directly from
an associated jpg file. It should not impose browser settings on viewer when started this way.
It behaves as expected when starting Xnview browser first and then viewing files from there.

Currently, one must use <page up> to go 1,2,3,4 when launching from MS explorer. Its backwards. If you start with Xnview browser, it works as expected.
How should XnView know about your Explorer sorting order?

I don't know. V.1.74 acts the same way. Should Xnview know Explorer order when launched
from it?

Hello !
- Like Roman says, this is unknown by XnView… That'ld need to dive in the
Dark Mysteries of Windows, that is not obvious… if documented!
- This could be done from Total Commander, though. Just an agreement for this by the two Authors

Kind regards,
Claude

I don't think it can. Explorer doesn't do anything except run XnView. It doesn't tell XnView about the sort order, your wallpaper or the music playing in winamp.
