UI: Close & Apply should be OK & Cancel

In XnView MP, it says "Close" and "Apply" in various dialogs. Instead of "Close" and "Apply" it should say "OK" and "Cancel". And: "OK" button is to the left of "Cancel" button.
Windows standard for buttons in modal dialogs is:
"OK" is for confirming and closing a modal dialog.
"Cancel" is for canceling and closing a modal dialog.
"Apply" is used when settings/changes made should be applied without closing the modal dialog.

Do you mean like in menus like from the menu bar Image>Adjust>'shadow & highlight' the "Close" and "Apply" there?
If so I understand what you mean

Yes, that dialog for example. It's wrong in many places:
Tools > Search...
Tools > Export...
Tools > Batch Convert..
Tools > Upload on web
Image > Change Colour depth...
Image > Solarize...
Image > Enhance Colors...
...

Yes your certainly right. I think too, that it should be 'OK' and 'Cancel' especially for the inclusion of the 'Cancel'...
Not to worry, though, as all Pieree would have to do on this issue is a simple name change. The functions would remain the same

Do you agree with that? I'm ok for Close=>Cancel

I think of three actions:
- • Close dialog and apply changes
• Close dialog but do not apply (i.e., abandon) changes
• Apply changes but do not close dialog

Hello,
Yes Helmut. The term "Close" is still ambiguous in a dialog!
"OK" is for confirming and closing a modal dialog.
"Cancel" is for canceling and closing a modal dialog.
"Apply" is used when settings/changes made should be applied without closing the modal dialog.
Overview if the three buttons : Apply | Cancel | OK

FR : Appliquer | Annuler | OK (pas Fermer!)
"And:OK" button is to the left of "Cancel" button.
So yes xnveiw!
Do you agree with that? I'm ok for Close=>Cancel
NB : The Apply button will be necessary only under certain conditions!
"Apply" is used when the settings / changes must/ be applied without closing the modal dialog box.
"Apply" is used when the settings / changes are required or permitted (preview) be applied without closing the modal dialog box.

Well John, see and compare for yourself
MP 0.35
VS.
MP
0.38
So in English XnViewMP, it's now 'ok' & 'cancel' instead of 'apply' & 'close' ------just a small cosmetic name change can make a big difference in apps. Not fully sure about all the other areas of MP where this should have been updated too.
PS.> Just one tiny thing, in the 'Export' window (launched from Browser) it still says 'close' instead of 'cancel'.
