Hi, I just discovered XnView and It it what I was looking for in image viewer, but I have problem with Archive Plugin. Every time i double-click on .zip file XnView crashes. I downloaded plugins from here:
http://www.xnview.com/en/addons.html
I unzipped it and moved the .dll files to \xnview\plugins folder (I couldn't find 'addons' folder as was written in website above so to be sure I even created it and moved files there). After that restarted XnView and tried to open .zip - and *crash*. Does anybody know or suspect why it crashes? I have Vista 32bit, SP2 and later updates, laptop. There are two archive plugins and I tested them both (together and separately). It's the only thing that's missing for me in this so I would be glad if someone could help me.

Extract contents of archive.zip (Allows to view content of zip, rar, 7z and SQX archive) to:
  • \XnView\AddOn\7z.dll
    \XnView\AddOn\sqx20.dll
    \XnView\AddOn\UNACEV2.DLL
    \XnView\AddOn\unrar.dll
    \XnView\AddOn\Unzip32.dll
Extract contents of zip.zip (ZIP files in browser) to:
  • \XnView\AddOn\Zip32.dll
    \XnView\AddOn\ZIPPack.lng
    \XnView\AddOn\ZIPPack.xnp
It may also be necessary to delete all entries in the [Plugins] section of xnview.ini.

Works like a charm. Used plural 'addons' instead of 'addon'. My bad, thanks for help.

Have the same issue, even worse!!
Your method dosn't help me too much. already done what you've suggested, XnView is still crashing when am trying to browse folder that contains JPG and ZIP files.

For ex. I have one folder that contains several types of files including JPG, ZIP, TXT...
I can open the JPG file, but when am trying to browse to the next file using the mouse, XnView is crashing.

If you don't have Addon/Unzip32.dll, do you have always the problem?

oooopppppssssssss!!!! sorry Pierre. It actually crash only with 001 file type, NOT ZIP archives.
I was been mistaken since both have the same Icon file type.
Any way to disable XnView from detecting this kind of files to avoid the crash??
001 is currently registered to 7-Zip by default.

Could you send me the .001 file?

I don't think its possible for me sending you all the files. the main 001 and rest of the archives are about 45MB each. (app. 2.5GB)
The archive contains 1 big ISO file.
my question is, why XnView recognized 001 and how can I disable it from the browser? I dont need XV messing around with this kind of files, thats why I installed 7-Zip from the beginning :)
