Layers & PSP files

Hi,
I'm new to .psp files. XnView opens the file, displays an image which I can then convert. However, the file should contain multiple images but only one image shows up w/XnView. I'm guessing the different images are "layers," similar to psd files; if so, how do I "open" or access the other layers?
I queried psp, how to open layers, etc. & got no hits via forums. I hope someone knows how to go about this.

I did a google search (duhhh!...thanks for the suggestion btw), and came up with many threads that all pretty much seemed to say the same thing: basically XnView does not currently support the layers in a psp file; only the bottom layer is viewable/convertible. According to XnView's author, Pierre, as of June 02, 2008, XnView does "not yet" support the layers.
Does this mean it might in the future? Corel files seem to be a dying breed.

Xnview doesn't support layers in any format, although it does support superficially similar things like multipage tiff/pdf/etc, and multiframe/animated pics (viewing of, but not saving of).
The question is; Are layers and multipages similar enough that the current multipage functions could be adapted somehow, to make them work with layers?
