				Hi,
Maybe a message could show on XnViewMP when jpg files that cannot open properly are opened.

Thanks for adding the prompt message in XnViewMP 0.56.
Although you need to further make it so that the view tab auto closes after showing this message.
Theres no point in the tab still being opened after the message is shown.
Please fix, thanks.

I drag & drop an
animated .webp file (that is not supported by XnView or any viewer) from Windows Explorer to view mode

Yes the message does display fine

 ...
..However after the message is clicked 'ok' then the unopened file tab still remains open

Hmm ok, so could you try making it transform into an Empty tab instead of closing it?
