.FIT files : XnviewMP vs Xnview ??

Hello,

would like to use MP to view/zoom/sortout batches of numerous astronomical pictures : very dark pictures (left left side of histogram).

Xnview shows the FITS files as wished, very fast, with a medium stretch. But no possibility to enlarge the thumnails as I would like, and no possibility to open a picture separately (like double click in MP), nor full-screen.

XnviewMP allows opening files separately by double click, and full-screen view. But the FITS files appear very dark, with no stretch. Obviously the FITS files are not decoded in the same way in the 2 programs ? Not possible to use it as is.

In both cases (classic and MP), gamma correction does not work.

Would it be possible to have best of both : features of MP with viewing quality of classic ?

Same pictures seen in both softs :

OK, I could get xnview classic work better (reinstall and apply all file formats). I can have single files opened and full screen view working.

Not so bad, but thumbnails are much too dark now...

I now have also the same views in both versions. Impossible to recreate the same viewing as in initial post, really dont know how I did it :(

But anyway, my initial problem remains that fits files viewing is much too dark, and can't find a way to view my files easily.

Basicaly for viewing my fits files, I currently use an veeeeery old version of acdsee. It uses a fits plugin wich applies an adaptative linear stretch, which delivers comfortable view for this type of very dark files... But this old soft is veeeery slow. Wish I could find something like this in xnview.

example of thumbnails on the same directory :

Sorry not possible to save in fits format. It is only a decode plugin.

Only thing I have is this plugin properties screen : one can choose several stretching profiles, and looks like the plugin uses the cblack and cwhite values which are in the fits header.

It would be nice to have stretch curve applied to FITS thumbnails, they are pretty much unusable without any stretching applied
