Here are few easy steps to kill / destroy your Info Pane:

1. Make sure that you have the Free Layout mode on. It is done from View | Layout | Free...
2. Undock your Info Pane. It is done by dragging from the caption bar. A floating window appears with the Info Pane in it and a Red Close button in the right-upper corner.
3. Close your Info Pane. It is done by clicking on the Red Close button in the right-upper corner of the floating window.

Enjoy... ...NOT!

Now the Info Pane is lost. There is NO normal way to bring it back.

Suggestion/Fix: Please add a Show button in View | Info Pane... like the one from View | Tree Pane...

For the ones who are desperate here's a workaround: Open the Full Screen mode (F11 by default) and close it back. Then go to View | Layout | Layout 1 to show it again.

Hi m.Th,

you can add "info pane (menu)" selection button to the toolbar and then just click on it to show/hide the info bar!! easy. :)

:) Thanks a lot!

+1 for the easiness!
-1 for not having a 'Show' menu item somewhere...
