I would appreciate someone's help very much : after a complete new installation of my computer I also installed my old friend XnView again, thinking it would work like always. Then I wanted to open a jpg with the "open with" function and immediately I receive the following information :

Path…./xyz.jpg is not a valid Win 32 application

I updated my old version to 1.80.1/1.50 but it did not help. Strangely after having opened the program I can browse in the tree to folders with pictures and open them. This works but is a bit inconvenient.

Any ideas ? THANKS.

'Open With' should point to an 'exe' file. Perhaps selecting Open With>Choose Program...>Other>'select your new xnview.exe again here' would help?

Hi Pierre,

I just go with the curser on one image (jpeg), push the right mouse button and there it is the "open with" function. Among Photoshop, Imaging, Picture viewer, IE etc. there is also XnView.....

XnView is the only progrm which does not work :

Path…./xyz.jpg is not a valid Win 32 application

By the way I have and had Windows 2000 SP 4 etc. - had it when XnView worked fine...

Perhaps a problem in the association...
