New folder disabled in toolbar

the "new folder" button is always grey (ie I cannot click it).
I use win XP and win 2000.

Strange, try to rename/remove xnview.ini file. Backup your .ini file first.

Do you have admin. rights in Windows?

This "problem" has to do with showing/hiding folders in Tools > Options > Browser > File List > Items shown in thumbnail mode > Folders.
Most probably, you have disabled "Folders". If you create a new folder, the new folder won't be displayed in the file list, this is the reason why the toolbar button is greyed out if "Folders" is disabled.

Actually, the shortcut "F7" for creating folders is not disabled, this is even a bit of a problem/bug, since you will see the new folders in the folder tree, only.

Right, that's it and I can see clearly now the problem. Thanks for the answer. And idea how you will resolve it?
