Files in Taskbar - Extension missing

Some files in the taskbar are missing the extension (e.g. JPG), and this is why it can't be found if it's clicked (although the files really exist). PNG and TIF seem to be OK.

It is the standard menu from the taskbar (Win 7 x64, XnView 2.34)

It is the menu displayed when right-clicking on the program icon on the taskbar, labelled 'Recent' in English...
Extensions displayed correctly for me with
Folder Options > View tab -- 'Hide extensions for known file types' unchecked.

I display always all extensions and hidden files and system files and .... - but some extensions are missing.
