When you set BMP and ICO files to open with XnView MP and open files, you get empty XnView window.

Example XnView MP 0.76.1 64-bit (empty window when opened)

Although Drag & Drop to XnView window works.

Example IrfanView 4.41 32-bit (works)

Another question after seeing this post.

Does enabling the setting for XnviewMp to "Startup with file" in fullScreen change anything ??
-General
--Startup

Reason: I'm not setup to open files with xnview anymore

Your answer is totally unrelated to this issue and doesn't solve it.

Their is 3 different modes files can be opened into. "Browser" "Fullscreen" "Viewer"
Hence the post about viewer mode being bugged and might have been related if files opened inside one mode but not the other.

Someone else has already confirmed these 2 files types won't open in either mode on win 8..

if you drag&drop bmp/ico on the XnViewMP's icon, same problem?
