transparency corruption on certain files

certain files with transparency have a corrupt output

The input file (32-bit PNG) has to be “flattened” before converting it to JPEG format: Image » True Colour

but is there any point not converting the color depth automatically?

I consider this to be a bug. (Manually reducing the color depth is just a workaround.)
