"Save As" for Browser vs. Batch Convert

I suggest to add "Save As" (and maybe also "Save") to menu, toolbar button and shortcut also for Browser.

Yes, a single picture. "Save As" dialog should appears also after "Ctrl+S".xnview wrote:To convert quikcly a picture?Dreamer wrote:I suggest to add "Save As" (and maybe also "Save") to menu, toolbar button and shortcut also for Browser.
I don't like this. "Save as..." is for saving a changed file. For converting people should open the file or use "Convert...".Dreamer wrote:Yes, a single picture. Why? Converting a single picture would be much easier.helmut wrote:I don't like this. "Save as..." is for saving a changed file. For converting people should open the file or use "Convert...".
When a door is hard to open and squeakes, you put oil on it. But you won't saw a whole into it to walk through.Dreamer wrote:Why? I miss such feature long time. It would be very useful.
But perhaps it would be great to make special dialog to convert or resize pictures easily...helmut wrote:When a door is hard to open and squeakes, you put oil on it. What I mean:
If "Convert" is complicated to use, we should try to make it easier to use. For example, the output folder could be the same as the original file. And the output folder could be a drop down list with recently used folders. Just some initial ideas...
Please reread my "door" analogy. We have Sequence convert, a Multi convert and a Batch rename. Do you really want to add a "Quick convert"?xnview wrote:But perhaps it would be great to make special dialog to convert or resize pictures easily...
Let's continue this thread. Until now this is all "in-topic".Dreamer wrote:I agree, but we (Helmut?) should start a new topic...
Ah yes, the long combo-box list problem. What if 5 most recently used types were floated to top of list with a separator?Clo wrote: - To convert a single file at the same time, this solution could do the trick as well…
He wants another dialog(s)? Then I disagree.helmut wrote:We have Sequence convert, a Multi convert and a Batch rename. Do you really want to add a "Quick convert"?
I have several suggestions to "Improve Batch Convert", but we can continue here...helmut wrote:Let's continue this thread. Until now this is all "in-topic".xnview wrote:Dreamer wrote:I agree, but we (Helmut?) should start a new topic...
- Sounds good as a temporary minimal improvement (could be set as extra INI-entries like proposed here) but could not solve the problem of a needed alternative path for saving, in example : *.aaa in path #1 >> *.bbb in path #2 >>> *.aaa in path #1 … and so on……What if 5 most recently used types were floated to top of list with a separator?
Thanks Clo.- About the topic here, indeed I think too that "Save as…" might be available from all modes, I support the Dreamer's request.
