hi there,

how do i change the transparency background of the viewer (standard) to a color of my choice?
I do not want to change any graphic file, i just want to have the transparency showed in another color.

no that does not affect to the picture itself.
that does make the blank screen around the picture in that particular color

I think you may be considering different parameters... :wink:

There is another parameter you could try: Tools > Options > Browser > Preview tab -- Background colour

Otherwise, could you try to explain what you are requesting in other words?

Method A:
  1. Go to Tools » Options... » View » View.
  2. Deactivate Use checkerboard pattern as background.
  3. Set Background colour to white.
Method B:
  1. Go to Tools » Options... » View » View.
  2. Activate Use checkerboard pattern as background.
  3. Quit XnView.
  4. Open the file xnview.ini in Notepad and look for the [View] section.
  5. Add the following lines to the [View] section:

    Code: Select all

    CheckerColor1=16777215
    CheckerColor2=16777215

  6. Save xnview.ini and restart XnView.

Are you able to upload an example .wmf file, so as to be clearer about what you wish to do?

You will probably need to put the file in a ZIP or similar archive, current forum attachment limit is 2MiB.

As it turns out, XnView doesn't support transparency in WMF: samples

ok. thank you for approving this, i thought about that because i tried everything i could find about background.
cant use xnview then, because in whitescreen the green and yellow lighted lines in my drawings are almost not noticable.
