Hello,
I would like to ask how the crop tool should work

Now when I choose the crop tool:

• I can't select the crop area with the mouse selection

• I can't move or change the crop area (that i select from list) with the mouse

Is this the expected behavior?

At first glance, it looks really strange and not intuitive

My env:
Win 10 v 1909
XnViewMP Version 0.96.2 64bits

With Free selected in the drop-down on the left, you can't make and change a mouse selection in the normal way??

Or you are saying that when a preset value is selected, the selection can only be moved or rotated, but the dimensions can't be altered?

I can move or change, but not with the mouse. I can do this only by changing the parameter next to list

I show you screen GIF how the situation looks like:

Crop tool operation is normal for me using XnView MP 0.96.2 on Linux.

Possibly an issue related to your exact sequence, or maybe related to particular mouse options in Tools > Settings... > Interface -- Mouse tab ??

If you are able to identify steps to reproduce that would help Pierre...

Yes Yes Yes! This is it!

I couldn't use it because I have different settings on the Mouse tab
Now I can use the crop tool with the mouse when the Ctrl key is pressed
