Categories, number of items not updated in pane

When removing orphaned items from catalog
the number of items (in brackets) is not updated.
You have to close and reopen MP.

I do not understand your question.
What or where is 'remove from category'?
It's quite simple isn't it:
I update the catalog db by "optimizing" it.
Formerly deleted items are (at last!!!) removed.
But it doesn't show in the numbers in the category pane at once.
You have to close and reopen MP.
Bug obviously.

you means Settings>Catalog>Delete?

This problem is supposed to be fixed in
XnView MP 0.96.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
