Hello,
I have a big problem because my mouse does not allow me to set the frame when cropping !
Let me explain :

• I select the 'Crop' tool
  The specific menu is displayed with the photo to be cropped full frame below
  and there, I'm going to draw a new frame with my mouse by pressing the left key
  And nothing happens !
  It's like I'm not pressing my mouse button !

J'ai un gros problème car ma souris ne me permet pas de définir le cadre lors d'un rognage !
Je m'explique :
Je sélectionne l'outil 'Rogner'
Le menu spécifique s'affiche avec la photo à recadrer plein cadre en dessous
et là, je vais pour dessiner un nouveau cadre avec ma souris en appuyant sue la touche gauche
Et rien ne se passe !
C'est comme si je n'appuis pas sur la touche de ma souris !

Quel est votre réglage pour le clic-gauche dans Outils, Paramètres, Interface, Souris ?
Je suppose qu'une modification du paramètre pour le bouton gauche résoudra le problème (faire une sélection)

Edit: Cday is right, first it was in english :
Tools> Settings > Interface > Mouse > Left button > "Make selection"


Sinon, une autre façon de faire : ouvrez une image dans un onglet, sélectionnez un rectangle (si ça marche ? ) et cliquez sur "Edition, Rogner"
Si le bouton gauche ne sélectionne pas, essayez de faire la sélection avec le bouton droit ...
Mais je pense que la solution est dans ma première hypothèse, un paramètre à modifier

Vous-avez en Outils > Paramètres... > Interface -- Souris : Bouton gauche -- Faire une sélection ?

The crop tool is WAY to complicated too figure out intuitively. Even the instructions in the manual don’t clearly state how and why the mouse must first be set up properly. Can the developers please make the mouse behavior default or the tool function mor3 like every other paint and photo tool out there? I’ve been using Photoshop and Gimp forever and a plethora of ridiculously complex professional proprietary graphics apps on LINUX for ref. one shouldn't have to forum lurk to figure this out. thanks…I otherwise appreciate the tool greatly and use it daily!

Thank you, michel038 and cday for solving Philrou's problem. Currently, XnView's configurability can be simultaneously a curse and a blessing - let's try and find ways to ensure that configurability is a blessing, only.
