XnView Software

XnView: MP 0.98 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 64bit

Effect: Undesired behaviour.

To reproduce:
1. Click on an image on the desktop for example, XnView will open the file.
2. Switch to chrome or any other app.
3. Having the other app still visible, click on the same image on the desktop.
4. XnView will not be brought to the front.

Expected behaviour: Clicking on the file in step 3 should bring XnView to the front of any others.

so with 'only one instance' setting?

Yes, Allow only one instance of XnView.

Other programs such as Photoshop, AutoCAD, Sublime Text all work in this way as I've described as the expected behaviour.

Im sorry Pierre but you're wrong.

Windows allow app to go in foreground. Your's previous version of XnView (NOT MP VERSION) works as expected.

I follow your software for at least 10 years.
If i not wrong i discovered this amazing software on a Windows XP Colossus edition (Disc 2). From this, i never change to another image viewer.

I waiting for next release to check.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.98.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

I've updated and the issue is still there.

yes strange, works sometimes. But i have the same behaviour on XnView Classic

I updated and yes, bug persist. I notice the bug is related with xnview.exe minimized or not.
How to reproduce with bug:
1. Open random image
2. select folder with images again and open another.

How to reproduce without bug:
1. Open random image
2. Minimize XnViewMP.exe (This is important)
3. Open another image and voilá, XnViewMP.exe brings to front!!!

Pierre, you're really close to solve. I hope on next build you solve this!!!
