XnView MP v0.99.1 64-bits (Sep 23 2021): Crashes while browsing subfolders
Posted: Wed Oct 27, 2021 9:21 pm
XnView MP: 0.99.1 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1288)
Effect: XnView MP crashes
XnView MP crashes when navigating folders in the left navigation panel with the Folders tab selected. This happens when navigating certain folders. It seems to happen on folders that contain subfolders, but does not happen on ALL folders containing subfolders. I was unable to identify if this happens with folders with certain filetypes. The folders causing XnView MP to crash first show a spinning animation for about 2-3 seconds and then crash the program.
The crash is reported in Application Log with the following details:
Event 1000, application error
Faulting application name: xnviewmp.exe, version: 0.99.1.0, time stamp: 0x614c275f

Faulting package-relative application ID:
To reproduce:
1. Browse a folder structure with many folders each having subfolders (around 70 folders with each having a variable number of subfolders)
2. Select first folder and see if XnView MP show the folder's content, either subfolders or images
3. If it does, continue with the next folder until you see the spinning animation for 2-3 seconds and see XnView MP crash
Actual behaviour (bug): XnView crashes
Expected behaviour: No crash, contents of subfolder is displayed.
