XnView Software

I have been unable to install the DEB in Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon, either over whichever version was previously installed, or as a new install.

Earlier versions have installed without any issue, this installation seems to complete normally, but then the application won't open. No error messages.

I regret that I don't have the technical background or the time to investigate myself.

could you try the TGZ package?

Sorry, I have in the past used several options, and then settled on DEB which has worked very well for me...

But I don't have the technical knowledge or time to investigate another format now.

Can someone else who would probably be more knowledgeable reproduce?

Rechecking, /bin has a file xnview installed earlier today, but it can't be launched, the toolbar icon show activity but the program doesn't launch...

try to remove styles/libqgtk2style.so, it seems the problem...

OK, that was it, I eventually found out how to remove the file by opening the directory directly with elevated privileges...

Next time, though, I will follow my usual procedure of waiting a while before installing a new version!
