B2: WMVs are played with green color effect

A known 'bug' (I didn't find original topic), but some new information. WMVs are played with green color effect in xnview. It is the same in all players, but when I change option DirectShow video from 'system default' to 'old renderer' in Windows Media Player Classic, it works good there. So it should be possible to 'fix' it in xnview too.

Windows media player has his own codec, so i have no info for that

Dreamer, using "Media Info 0.7.4" can you find out if these files are WMV1, WMV2 or WMV3?
WMV1 = Windows Media 7 encoded
WMV2 = Windows Media 8 encoded
WMV3 = Windows Media 9 encoded
I'll run my own tests now for this bug.
Usually the "green effect" with video players indicates a video driver problem.
Update:
I can't reproduce this bug, WMP 9, WM_VCM 9, DirectX 9.0c Dec 2005 and ATI 5.12 drivers installed.

I'd opt for Closing this.
I don't think there's hope for another video renderer in XnView.

No, this problem has nothing to do with the video renderer in XnView.
It's something else and I'd like to see how it's turns out as I have an interest in digital video.

But - can anyone confirm 'green effect' too?
I'll try to check my files, ckit, do you have a link to "Media Info 0.7.4", I can't find it.

It's MediaInfo, not Media Info, that's the problem.
BTW - thumbnails are OK
Versions of my WMVs:
- video WMV2, audio WMV2 - correct
- video S-Mpeg4 v3, audio WMV2 - correct
- video WMV3, audio WMV2 - green effect
- video WMV3, audio WMV3 - green effect

I don't know what to suggest, make sure you have the following installed.
DirectX SDK 9.0c Dec 2005
WMP 9.00.00.3263 (you can only get this with WMP patches ->
http://www.mdgx.com/wmp.htm)
WMP_VCM 9 codec
Windows Media 10 Codecs for WMP 9
Can you get WMV3 clips to play OK in MPC using VMR9 renderless because you can't your problem lies with DirectX or video card?
Check for any problems in "dxdiag" utility.
Last Resort:
From Desktop -> Properties -> Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting -> Reduce your Hardware Acceleration by 1 each time and see if that helps.

I see that it is a matter of codecs, so upgrade your codecs or Suggest multiple video rendering engines.
