your image file has transparency, it's the same with 32bits image file

hm, why not like this?
  • a (default settings)
    • actual - transparency bleeding through mask
    • expected - solid mask
  • b ("use mask as alpha" enabled)
    • actual - transparency lost
    • expected - transparency preserved

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.5.0 beta. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
