Browser gets "stuck" on .xmp (Darktable) files when nav back/forth with arrow keys [Solved]

This seems to be a recent problem with one of the newest releases. In a directory with .jpg files and also .jpg.xmp files left there by Darktable (image editor), formerly with older versions of XnView they would be ignored, and I could use the left and right arrow keys to navigate through images in the directory. Now, if I navigate to one of the .xmp files, I see the raw XML in the window as text, and the arrow keys do not work to navigate either backwards or forwards. I have to click to delete that image view to get back to the directory, where of course I can select another image to view.
Is this something I can affect with an application setting?

Oh never mind, if I un-check "Show companion files" it's fine. (I still think it shouldn't get stuck, but whatever.)

I have downloaded newest XnView Simple version of app and I can't browse image files with arrow keys on my keyboard. I looked on Settings-options but I can't make XnView to let me use arrows keys for browsing images. I have newely installed Windows 11 OS. I don't know what's the problem. Help.

XnView MP or maybe XnView Classic?

Windows 11 has been causing some problems but as a Linux user I'm not familiar with the details...

Classic one! maybe I should change to MP i don't know.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in
XnView MP 1.6.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Problem was on XnView Classic!
Nevertheless that, I've checked your new version of MP release and it works fine.
