XnConvert -- Update check not working (portable)

The update checker in XnConvert does not seem to be working, at least in the portable version...

- I use the portable version of XnConvert (i.e. the extracted .zip, rather than the installed version)...
- I was using v1.96 which is set to check for updates "weekly"
- I haven't received any update notifications over the last few months using XnConvert
- However, doing a manual check earlier saw that v1.98 came out months ago!
