XnViewMP 1.6.1 64bit
Windows11 (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

Settings - formats
combinations of buttons (Select all/Select most used) and 'Show most used format at begining' checkbox
produce different/unsorted 'most used' sets for some unknown reason

Suggestion
unify most used sets to:
- bmp
- heic
- jp2
- jpg
- jxl
- jxr
- png
- tif
- webp

although I'm not sure if the following are really most used:
- jp2
- jxl
- jxr

looks good

tbh, maybe its just my experience, but:
- heic - looks like "read-only" format, not sure if anyone willingly convert any format into heic
- jp2 - I don’t remember if I’ve seen this format at least once in real life :D

Great idea.

HEIC/HEIF format is important for android smartphones / apple iphone photos, if you use it instead of jpeg files

Since the last update of XnViewMP 1.6.1 the avif (reading/writing) is more important than heif/heic.
The files are compatible with all popular browsers and the android 13 and later systems.
It get more important for internet sites or big photo collections on tablet/smartphone.
You can save at least 25% more space in comparison to jpeg or webp at the same quality.

JPEG XL (JXL) is interesting for big digital photos so save space on hdd.
It is a great format, but need some further time to get successful as other formats.
