I often convert ARW files and here's what I'm missing in your program: xnconverter doesn't know how to use automatic settings from this file format. Viewing in xnview works correctly, it uses automatic color correction and distortion recorded by the camera in the arw file. However, the converter cannot do this and the filters for batch processing do not have such filters. I also want to report a problem: when converting, the resolution of images is reduced by almost 3 times! All settings are reset to default. No filters are used. Reinstalling the program did not help. But xnconverter still reduces the resolution of photos. What could cause such a problem?

Hi, I found this thread looking for a solution to the problem that I encountered yesterday.

The OP didn't specify the OS or software version they were using, but if that was Linux, and if the Linux version of XnView relies on dcraw, that might be the problem.

I first batch-converted my ORF files to JPG using XnView MP 1.6.4 64-bit (Linux) - Libformat 7.170 on Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3 and noticed a drastic colour change, barrel distortion and different frame/crop size. I thought it was XnView, found this thread and decided to use a different tool. So I used dcraw, but the result was the same except the colours were a bit truer to the original. I decided to switch to Windows and the results were fine there.

In my attached montage file, the image versions are as follows:
left upper: original ORF
right upper: batch convert with dcraw (note the colour change, barrel distortion and wider frame format)
right lower: batch convert with XnView MP on Linux (note the even further colour change, barrel distortion and wider frame format)
left lower: batch convert with XnView MP on Windows 10 (practically the same as original)

Do you have same settings in 'Read>Camera RAW'?

Nope, it was Full size in the Linux version vs Embedded preview in Windows.
After changing to Embedded preview in Linux, the result got in line with the expectations, thanks!
