Properties icon in browser view not woring on Linux.

MX Linux 23.2 KDE, XnView 1.7.1 installed though package manager, MXPI (MX Package Installer).
When in browser mode the the Properties command does nothing. When in view mode the same command icon launches the XnView Properties window, much better than the windows properties box.
I looked in Settings at the Interface, Toolbar window and the properties seem to have the same commands for both the browser and view options.
I could not find another option that seems to control this, if anyone knows how to fix this I would appreciate welcome any help.

could you check logs in terminal?

I am willing but don't know how, I am a gui only guy most of the time. If you could provide some instruction or a link to instructions I will do it.
Trying to switch to linux full time but still learning.
update:
MX Linux has a utility called Quick System Info which allows access to some log files. Screenshot attached. I can use the find feature to search for the info that you require if you let me know what to look for.

i don't know MX, you can open a terminal and execute XnView?

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce
the problem.
This icon is only available on Windows (show system information dialog)

This problem is supposed to be fixed in
XnView MP 1.7.2. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

The properties Icon is now missing from the browser toolbar and is no longer available in the Settings/Interface/ToolBar/Browser option window.
I have confirmed this on my desktop and laptop, both running MX Linux 23.3 KDE (Debian based), fully updated.
