1.8.3 - View - Auto zoom - Fit window to image

In mode "Auto Zoom - Fit window to image" scrolling with default 100% zoom is correct. But when I do manual Zoom In or Zoom Out, zoom factor changes and is not eaqual 100% (for example, 71% or 142%). So, when zoom factor is not eaqual 100% (for example, 71% or 142%) and I scroll to next or previous image, this zoom factor still the same, but I have "Reset 'Auto zoom' setting with next/previous file" option checked and "Lock Zoom" unchecked. Shouldn't zoom reset to 100% when I scroll images in "Fit window to image" mode with "Reset 'Auto zoom' setting with next/previous file" option checked and "Lock Zoom" unchecked?

First of all, my first post, so I want to say this app is the best modern free image viewer out there. I like all the customization options, and it's fast, so thanks!
So I saw this bug report that will be fixed in the next version, and it looks similar to my bug, but not sure if it's the same. Sorry if it isn't, and I can create a new thread for it if you want.
So the "Fit image to window" zoom view option is not working properly with the viewer. When I view images that are smaller in resolution than my monitor resolution, it resizes the viewer window appropriately to the exact size of the image. However, when I'm viewing images that have a larger resolution than my monitor resolution, it will display them at 100% size and it doesn't zoom the image (shrink) down to the size of the monitor resolution or the viewer window. So when scrolling though images quickly, all the high resolution images can't be fully seen and I have to manually hit the "-" key to zoom them down so they fit on the screen. Also, intermittantly, when viewing larger resolution (than monitor resolution) images sometimes the window just stays the same proportions as the browser window and doesn't do any resizing.
Thanks so much!

Try View - Auto zoom - Fit image to desktop.
Maybe in XnViewMP 1.8.4 this issue will be fixed:
viewtopic.php?f=62&t=48314.

Thanks I didn't notice that option. That works much better but only on my landscape monitor, and sometimes it will just use the size of the browser window, or when going back from the viewer to the browser it keeps the same dimensions of the viewer window for the browser window. So when I have that view zoom option turned on and am viewing images on my portrait monitor, the image viewer positions itself part ways in the portrait monitor and part in the landscape monitor, very weird. The portrait monitor has a resolution of 1440x2560.

Can't say about 1.8.4, but in 1.8.6 the bug is still here.
I have
Auto zoom setting set to 'Fit image to window' and
Reset 'Auto zoom' setting with next/previous file option checked.
Then open some image, increase its zoom to 200 % for example, click 'Next file' button. Zoom remains equal to 200 % and is not resetted.

In 'Fit image to window' mode it is important, how you increase zoom to 200%. You can stretch the window by mouse to make window size 200% large, and image will fit window and zoom to 200% too. Another case, when you click Zoom In button (or '+' key), so image zooms to 200%, but the window doesn't change its size and scrollbars appears instead. Could you describe your viewer behavior in these 2 different cases? What happens on 'Next file' after window size stretching by mouse and what happens on 'Next file' after zooming image in small window with scrollbars?

I mean second case. I. e., I don't touch the main window and only use +/- keys or mouse wheel, doesn't matter. If I change zoom value this way, it's kept until app restart. Changing main window size doesn't affect zoom value in this case.
Looks like auto zoom stops working completely once you changed zoom value manually.

Seems, I was able to find the reason after you mentioned ini file.
lockZoom parameter was set to true in my ini file. After changing it to false everything is working as it should, so I was wrong that the bug still exists, sorry.
But regarding lock zoom in the app itself it's very confusing. If I go to
View menu (or right-click on my image) and then go to
Zoom submenu, there is a 'Lock zoom' item, that always looks absolutely the same, there is no any distinguishment between active and inactive state. But if you add this item to toolbar, there is a rectangle, that shows its state. In context menu there is no any rectangle, and because of that I thought, that this setting is inactive and there is a bug.

Yes, 1.8.6. I don't have this rectangle.
And I see, that on your screenshot there is the same rectangle on 'No fit' option. In my case, I don't have it, only bold dot. Same with other items in menu, there are only ticks on items like Titlebar, Toolbar, etc., but without rectangles.
