RC2: XnView crashes on some pictures

Here's is a packet of 78 images (3MB). RC2 crashes when trying to display thumbnails. It seems that some pictures sometimes cause crash but sometimes not. Strange.

Crash confirmed here, and it is not always with the same picture !
[XP Sp2 French]
Thumbnails works perfectly with Total Commander and Imagine as plugin !

Hello L. !
- Confirmed here too under XP-Pro SP1. Offset :
0017D5F4
- BUT : these images cause also a crash here with 1.80.3 in the browser and as thumb-nails in TC (are displayed then, though).
- My usual images don't cause a crash of RC2.

just downloaded, installed & tried out 1.82, and guess what: no more error messages or crashes! you guys are incredible! wish I knew what was wrong, but I am no expert, so forget it.
