XnView: MP 1.8.6 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 11 - 64-bit
Abnormal file saving description line.
Effect: failure to add an extension to the file.
To reproduce:
1. Open any image
2. Go File - Save As
3. Choose format IFF (1st)

The program substitutes the JPG extension to save IFF/TBI, but the program is limited to these extensions to open these formats.

i can reproduce
to reproduce
1. open A.png
filename shows A.png - OK
2. press Ctrl+Shift+S and select "IIF - Explore (TDI);&;Maya)" type
filename will change to A.jpg
expected behaviour
filename to change to A.
iif
ps. also there is typo in the format name in "Save as" dialog
(it's correct in "Open" dialog though):
- IIF - Explore (TDI);&;Maya) →
IIF - Explore (TDI) & Maya (*.iff;*.tdi)
- WBMP - Wireless Bitmap (level;0)) →
WBMP - Wireless Bitmap (level 0) (*.wbmp;*.wbm;*.wap)

Don't forget the WBMP extension with a similar problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in
XnView MP 1.8.7. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
