Settings - read - Camera RAW
some settings are ignored
To reproduce:
0. prerequisites

• change Settings
  • Read>Camera RAW
    - uncheck all checkboxes
    - change Brightness, Red/Blue scaling from 1 to 0 OR 99
  • View
    - Camera RAW, use [Full size] or [Half size]

1. open any Camera RAW image in Viewer, eg .NEF
Brightness, Red/Blue scaling will not be applied

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.7. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
