1.9.2: Video file moving fails
Posted: Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:46 pm
XnView: MP 1.9.2 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Video file is copied instead of being moved.
To reproduce:
1. Have two instances of XnView MP open with a browser view.
2. At the first instance, move the cursor bar to a video file and press ctrl-X.
3. Go to the second instance, which shows another directory at the same drive, and press ctrl-V.
Actual behaviour (bug):
For a few seconds, nothing seems to happen.
Next, the progress bars show that the file is being moved. This takes again a few seconds (depending on the size, of course).
Finally, a dialog is displayed with the title "Copy Warning" and the error message "Cannot remove source."
Retrying doesn't seem to help.
Expected behaviour:
Movie file is moved to the new directory pretty much instantly since its contents do not need to be copied. Moving succeeds and the file is removed from the original location. No error dialog is displayed.
