XnView: MP 1.9.5 64-bit (Oct 12 2025) Libformat 7.228 (macOS)
OS: macOS Tahoe 26.1 (25B78)

When you use the markup/edit tool in macOS Preview (or in Photos app on iOS) to do any modifications to a HEIC image and view it in XMViewMP it is corrupted.

Effect: Image is not displayed correctly

To reproduce:
1. Transfer an image from iPhone to macOS with or without modifications
2. View the (if not modified) image in XNViewMP it will look OK likewise OK in Preview
3. If needed (or do this on iOS before sending image) make any modification eg draw a circle on image
4. The thumbnail of the image also looks different to the image when you view it.
5. I have attached screenshots to show this

Actual behaviour (bug): The image is now all messed up

Expected behaviour: Non corrupted image displayed

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.9.6. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

I missed seeing 1.9.6 (busy few days at work) but it is now fixed in 1.9.7 which I just installed.
