MP43 Files

I have a bit of a wierd problem. In 1.82-RC3 I was able to get thumbnails for all of my video files. But in 1.82-Final, when dealing with some old MP43 encoded files, the thumbnails are generated from only the first frame of the video. This is only really a problem on files that fade in from black since I get a video thumbnail that is all black. I do not have this problem with newer videos encoded in Xvid, WMV1,2,3, or MPEGs. I have tried reinstalling the final release and using different decoders for MP43 but the thumbnails are still from the first frame of the video. I reinstalled 1.82-RC3 and the video thumbnails for MP43 encoded files are created normally. Is anybody else having this problem?

I have the same problem with MOV files, but it's a known 'bug'.
n… frame option ?

Hello !
- IIRC, this has been discussed a while ago, and some users proposed an option to display the
n…th. frame as the thumb-nail… ?
- I guess it could be the solution, and maybe could you notice that for your "bugs" thread, for the 1.83 ?

It's already working, almost for all formats, except MOV and probably MP43.

The funny thing is that it works for MP43 encoded files in 1.82-RC3 but not 1.82-Final.
I said : OPTION

This is quite lame, because here in 1.82 final :
1.
*.avi and
*.mpg work,
2.
*.wmv does
not work, only the associated progamme icon as thumb-nail,
3. I found out only one *.mov in my usual PC, but it doesn't work at all, moreover I've not any "Quick Time' and don't wish to install one.
4. I said above an
Option - thus, a certain
user-configurable amount of frames to ignore before to catch one and set it as the thumb-nail…
- But I don't see such an option, even among some new (rare) extra INI-entries; aside, it could be set such as, as well…
- Obviously,
supposing that the feature skips a pre-defined hard-coded amount of frames from the file head, this is not suitable in all cases…

Yep ! I have a few videos only, and not any MP43… You touched an interesting point. I would be glad to get one in order to test and fill my "Samples" folder a bit more…

Kind regards to All,

I have no idea how I could do that. How would I go about providing you with a sample?
