In Batch rename, the history of templates is broken in 1.82.2:

When performing two batch renames with different template names, the history in the drop down list contains the last template name, only. :bug:

If the bug has been fixed, it may have returned: In 1.92.1 Xnview does not seem to remember any Template History at all.

I have version 1.94.2 and it does not save Rename templates.

Thanks.

Sorry, I refer to Batch Rename, after upload camera pictures, I select all and use a template to rename them in only one folder. Templates are not saved.

Thanks in advanced.

Sorry but i don't reproduce it, could you try with a clean .ini?

I have tried deleting xnview.ini and when starting again I told to save ini in folder /Program files/Xview/ then I try to Batch Rename some pictures but after close and reopen it did not save any templates. In xnview.ini it is after [Rename] in Template# only Template0=name-# the rest is empty.

I have tried to write my template in Template0 and Template1 but when closing xnview they are deleted.

I will repeat deleting ini and next time to save it outside of xnview program folder.

I tried saving xnview.ini in folder C:\Documents and Settings\user\Datos de programa\XnView but when closing program all templates are deleted.

I will keep trying to find about. Thanks.

This never worked for me either... :(
The batch rename templates are remembered only until I quit XnView; the next time I start it, the template history is always blank...

Oh, gorram it... I know what it is.
The "Purge 'Most Recently Used Files & Directories' on exit" option under "Interface". If it's enabled, it helpfully erases rename template history too. If it's not, it doesn't.
Are you sure that this is intended behaviour though? I don't want to keep my history, but I would like to retain templates... ;)

Right 'purge ....' delete history, so Delete or not??? :-)

I can see how this might be meant as a feature, not a bug, but honestly, "most recently used files and directories" does not suggest "...and templates too".
Even if this works as intended, as I said, I prefer not to keep history of files / directories I watch (yeah, I'm paranoid, I know...), but I do not consider rename templates privacy-related information.
Maybe this should be a feature request then: I'd like to keep template history, but not file/folder history (and apparently so do a few other people). Could this be perhaps another checkbox please...?

I don't remember who has made this request....

I'm not saying anyone explicitly requested that before.
All I'm saying is that I'd like to request this now. :)
Seeing as how other people were fooled by the same feature (checking "purge..." but not expecting their template history to disappear - the reason this post exists at all), I imagined they would like such a feature too...
