File selection disappears when deleting file

I select a file in the list, and delete it (pressing "delete"). File disappears, and XnView insists on refreshing the entire list - forcing me to find back the point in the list I was at.
How difficult can it be to fix this? So far I have never encountered a grid-component that doesn't let you select the next row after removing one.
This is making file management really difficult in XnView.
Other than that - great program.

On Windows XP this works fine.
But:
Perhaps this problem is related to
Image select in browser. In the options dialog, category 'Browser->File list', frame 'Items shown in other mode', I've unchecked 'All files'. And voilĂ , the problem described by you (notnoisy) appears.
@Notnoisy: Could you please check, whether this is unchecked on your box, too? If so, please check the option, try again, and let us know about the result, here.

Bingo! I had it unchecked, for a good reason, but checking it solved the problem.
Good thinking, helmut
