The funny thing is that it works for MP43 encoded files in 1.82-RC3 but not 1.82-Final.Dreamer wrote:It's already working, almost for all formats, except MOV and probably MP43.Clo wrote:- IIRC, this has been discussed a while ago, and some users proposed an option to display the n…th. frame as the thumb-nail… ?

MP43 Files
I have a bit of a wierd problem. In 1.82-RC3 I was able to get thumbnails for all of my video files. But in 1.82-Final, when dealing with some old MP43 encoded files, the thumbnails are generated from only the first frame of the video. This is only really a problem on files that fade in from black ...

XnView 1.82 RC3 will not respect the startup directory if it is only a drive letter like F:\. I have to put in an actual folder like F:\Anime\ to get XnView to start up in a specific directory. Also I normally

Re: Matroska Files
Also keep in mind that the user will still have to have the proper matroska directshow filters and video codecs installed on his computer or xnview will not be able to use directshow to make thumbnails of the file or view it.

Re: Matroska Files
It would seem to be that simple. All I did to get xnview to make thumbnails of my matroska files were to change to file extension to .wmv. For some reason xnview does not know what to do with .mkv files.xnview wrote: So i must add mkv to my video extension

Multi-Frame Video Thumbnails
There is one feature in ACDSee 7 that I like and it is the ability to create multi-frame video thumbnails. Ever thought about giving xnview this feature?

Matroska Files
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way of configuring xnview to recognize and make thumbnails for matroska files. I can get the program to make thumbnails of the files by changing the extension of the files from .mkv to .wmv. So, xnview is using directshow to create the video thumbnails ...
