Re: Advice on LInux Installation?
What kind of advice do you need, do you actually need to change from the Ubuntu versions?
I moved from Windows to Linux Mint a few years ago and use Pierre's DEB version successfully, a potential issue with alternative installs such as DEB and TGZ is security, but I have no reason for concern with ...

Re: Batch Convert Multipage TIFFs with Page Numbers
I don't think that you should give up too easily when there may be a quite simple solution to your need!
Would you be able to provide a small number of representative TIFF files that I could run through my [very] draft batch conversion script, if necessary using a private download link sent ...

Re: Batch Convert Multipage TIFFs with Page Numbers
I'm not optimistic that can be done using XnConvert although by all means try, I think the XnConvert interface would likely require either a minor change to default file naming or an additional option added.
However, I'm confident after a quick test using the NConvert command line software that a ...

As a general principle when batch processing files, whether renaming or performing other operations, it is often best to work on a copy of the original files so as to avoid potential undesirable outcomes...

Re: Browser - catalog filter - add Square orientation, fix sorting
What is 'Square orientation', could you post an example?
And maybe an example image displayed in Landscape, Portrait and Square orientations, if that makes sense.
Edit:
I think perhaps the issue here is whether the word 'Orientation' is the appropriate word, you mean the shape of the rectangle ...

Re: Can't open new jpg (screenshot of recent game)
If you want to progress this, I think you need to provide a download link to a ZIP containing exactly what you are exporting from DxO with steps to reproduce the issue.

Re: Can't open new jpg (screenshot of recent game)
That JPEG doesn't open in XnView Classic, you say you have resized it which creates a new file? And also refer to folders that aren't displayed as well as images that can't be viewed?
Note: I'm a Linux user and so can't easily run XnView Classic even if I had the time.

Re: Can't open new jpg (screenshot of recent game)
I think you will have to post an example JPEG file, which hopefully someone will examine closely to find out why it doesn't open in XnView Classic, but as indicated please attach it as a ZIP file.
If it is any help you can download earlier versions of XnView Classic to test here.

Re: Can't open new jpg (screenshot of recent game)
In which software are the screenshots saved?
I think you will have to post the file and hopefully someone will have a look, but please place it in a ZIP as there has been a lot of spam related to games posted recently.

Re: How to use Exiftool in XnView MP Flatpack install?
@eddified: Something to remember is that Flatpak versions are not produced by Pierre, so there is at least some delay before new versions appear there, whereas Deb versions are available to download immediately, and earlier versions are available here in the case of a glitch.
