XnTriq.... I looked up ppm files and started to do the logo... I'm still working on it. When I get it done I'll send it on and tell myself, I'm not too old to learn new tricks!!
I see you sent a msg to Pierre, thanks.
Thanks so much for your help.

Re: DXF files
XnTriq Yes, .qli files can be opened with notepad...and one can also read any text that accompanies the pattern, but no thumbnail is shown.
CADQview will open & display one file at a time. Not useful when I'm trying to decide between several different designs... better to have several side-by-side ...

Re: DXF files
I was actually concerned that you might not give me the time of day if you knew or guessed about QLIs. They are files used exclusively (at least I think exclusively), by a company, Gammill. Among other things, they manufacture a computer guided “quilting machine”. Essentially, an industrial size ...

Re: DXF files
I was so excited about being able to see an image... I didn't give all the information...
When in XnView Browser, the screen is split... top is a thumbnail/details view of the files in the selected folder. Under View, I see that I can change this to different formats... I'm trying to change the dxf ...

Thanks...You seemed to have covered everything finely...
I can handle the cost of the dll...small price to pay, IF I can match my goal with the requirements-limitations set by XnView. And XnView seems pretty flexible!!

XnTriq hit the nail on the head with the View>Filter by>All. I can get a good quality image.
But to answer your question, yes I could offer screen shots and sample dxf file if desired.
The next 2 questions I posted, (our posts crossed in cyber space), now go deeper into the capabilities of ...

Re: DXF files
Could it be the type of .dxf file I use? In AutoSketch 9, there are 3 options to create .dxf files:
AutoCAD 2000 DXF (*.DXF)
AutoCAD 2004 DXF (*.DXF)
AutoCAD R12/LT2 DXF (*.DXF)
I only use the last one, as recommended by the programmers who authored the software program using the dxf files to ...

Re: DXF files
Hi XnTriq, I did that before, but I did it again... and made a few changes in the setup. So, I still do not see CS-Manager in the Plug-in list. But it does not over write my files!! Now that's progress... But it still does not read the DXF files. I create 2 files out of AutoSketch... dxf & skf. It ...

Re: DXF files
Peter & Helmut: Thank you! I see I overlooked the Legend note about the dxf files needing CAD Plugins.
I'm not familiar with the concept, but after reading your links, I hope to figure it out.
I'll get back to you if I need help.
Thanks again.
Sharon

DXF files
I think I read on the formats list that XnView can read .dxf (AutoCAD DXF) files. When I go to a folder containing .dxf files I don't get a thumbnail? I looked under Options>General>Read, but don't find dxf listed. What do I do to be able to read .dxf files??
I did a search on 'dxf' in the faq and ...
