For your info: about Batch converter Output-tab.

There one can choose Source map or (user defined) Map to save files in.
If you choose Map but dont specify any map it also saves in Source map.

Fine for me! But it might confuse any helpdesk and forum item if you dont realise that.

To my opinion such specialized options should not be activated per default but from/via/after the settings menu only.

And ofcourse a very inside explanation and help text (for dummies and dutchies, so they understand to not switch ...

XNViewMP runs fine now. So i just changed language to dutch.

Then Hotfolders in the bc is translated to "Veelgebruikte mappen". Which (for dutchies) means "Often used folders".

That to my opinion confirms that also the translator(s) saw it as Favourites. Which is not really un-confusing :?

Laptop was still running, so all info without any restart today.
Just tested bc without hf and it runs source files just ones. I bc-rename the results to xxx new and bc-save (add) them in the source folder.

My workflow:
I rename the original folder to a folder Photos YYYYMMMDDD Location org ...

My problem at my Win81 laptop was that in case the source folder was once added as hotfolder there was an endless auto-rerun of all source-dir files. I could not correct that anymore, not even after a full un- and re-install.

Today and contrarery to all my tests of the last days my XNViewMP batch ...

So now i understand that this is a default behaviour from the moment one ever touches the Hotfolder button. Although i dont understand why it must do so, and not being able to undo this choice. I guess most XNViewMP batch beginners will try to use this Hotfolder, thinking it means Favourites. Anyway ...

I installed XNViewMP that on any moment went into auto-restarting in batchmode. Then i also installed Convert which shows the same behaviour and Classic that wont run in batch (for me, see my remarks above). Maybe i did hit the Hotfolder button some moment, i dont know after so many clicks and tests ...

Where is "Convert" ?!

Thanks, i tried Tools-Sequence Converter. And i found and tried Tools-Batch Rename.

They do rename but i dont get them running any batch?!

In SC i have to select 1 file and cannot just select the whole directory. It also does not accept Ctrl-A command. I guess i have to do something with Start ...

I will use the traditional version then.

Is it correct that i there cannot self determine the rename extension? As far as i can see and test that version auto-renames to _1.

Autorestart means that the converter repeats the same run without my command.

Within the same window and without touching anything after the first normal run it just re-runs the same actions again after about 3 seconds. And again. And again. And again.

If i dont stop it mannually, with a batch ...

Hoi there,

In my XNViewMP i found that the Bulk converter restarts itself over and over again, every 3 seconds after finishing.
With ie a rename action i so get all files like File1-new, File1-new new, File1 new new new, etc etc.

Is this any setting anywhere? I reinstalled MP but that didnt ...
