XnView Software

I often try to do the following in XnView and always am negatively surprised:
1. Save As
2. Choose "image.png" as target name
3. Press save

What happens:
if the last file type used was JPG, then image.png will be saved as image.jpg

What should happen:
If the file name ends on a known extension ...

Steps to reproduce:
1. xnview image.png
2. LMB+hold (may be setting specific) to select a rectangle
3. Press Ctrl+X

What should have happened:
Rectangle should be replaced with background color, e.g. white

What happens:
Nothing

Workaround:
4. After nothing happens in step 3, go into the ...
