Re: Rename, Save As not functioning [Linux]

RESOLVED!!

My bad, it seems...

I typically save "master" files to a usb thumbdrive so I won't lose them...so after all of my attempts at checking the properties of all my drives, and trying to open/save with other similar programs (most of which I do not like--XnView is the best by far), I took ...

Rename, Save As not functioning [Linux - Solved]

XnView: MP 0.96 latest 64 bit
OS: Linux Mint/64bit

Trying to rename a file (say, for ex, to save as an original "master" photo so I don't lose it for revising to later changes).

I tried several times, when making a slight change to a photo, or in renaming a photo to a "master" file, a dialog box ...

Filters applied to entire image not selection [0.96 Linux]

I REALLY love this program :D , my go-to for all picture edits. I am using latest version Linux Mint (I abhor Windows  ), just downloaded MP version 0.96, and discovered a bug ( :bugfixed:? ).

Upon editing a picture, one has the ability to apply filters (blurring, sharpen, noise reduction ...

Linux Cinnamon, ver. 0.84 color renderings in selection box

Linux ver. 18.1

When selecting a portion of a picture for editing (i.e., drawing a box around a section of a photo to perform an edit), thereafter selecting or manipulating the feature, while one is editing this box, the edit is sometimes applied to the ENTIRE picture, and not just retained within ...

0.84 Linux: text addition to underlying picture

Linux Cinnamon v. 18.1

In prior versions, one was able to add and manipulate text onto a picture (i.e., "Edit/Add Text") which is now missing. It appears the new "add comment" is not as easily intuitive as its prior version. Tough to find, tough to add. Would prefer the original "add text" ability ...

0.84 Linux: feature dialog box covers picture

Linux Cinnamon OS, v.18.1

When using any feature, its dialog box appears, covers the picture, but cannot be resized, manipulated, or moved away from the underlying picture. Thus, the viewer cannot witness the edit result when the feature is applied--except on the fringes along the exterior of the ...

0.82: Dialog box issues

Using XnView MP v.0.82 x64 (Sep 12 2016), Libformat version 6.91, on a Linux machine (Zorin OS v.12 beta--a Ubuntu v.16.04 derivative distro)

Up to this point, XNView has been my default app for editing images for the past ten years or so. But I am now having difficulties coping with this latest ...

Re: Adding text and shapes

earlier versions of XNView had this capability...why it was removed I don't know. I used to be able to add text to an image (eg, under "Edit" add "text" for a name to the bottom of a photograph for identity), but no more. That was so handy.
